HIMCR#67 - Challenge
Hi Guys, I missed my regular posting date, but I do have a new quick card to post today. Really that's about all the time I have is for a quick card, so this will have to satisfy those creative juices I have flooding my head right now. In response to #67 challenge from Hiding in My Craftroom I made a card from scraps. I just bought several of Tim Holtz dies (I only own 6 at the present time) and I wanted to see what they looked like on paper, so I used them all on a banner that I had left from the last card I made. The distress ink colors on the banner are fired brick, peeled paint, tea dye, spiced marmalade, victorian velvet and I went around the edge with black soot. I liked the look so much that I decided to spray it with of my two favorite glimmer mists, Dazzling Diamonds and Daffodil. (Who am I kidding, all the glimmer mist colors are my favorite, it just depends on the project I am working on) Then I decided to give it a little texture by crinkling it up while it was wet, and then drying it with my heat gun. I love the effect, you can just see a little shimmer on it when the light hits it. I also had 2 circles left over from the last card so I used the Tim Holtz stapler to staple the entire thing together. I used a stamp from my Close To My Heart collection and letters from Recollections Glitter Alphabet for the "We are" title in the circle. A scrap from Recollections black card stock was used for the base of the card along with 3 Pearlescent Goodie Box Jewel Tone pearls. I plan to make several cards and give them to the Office Administrator at our church to mail to the sick and shut in. For a quick and easy scrap project, I think it came out pretty darn good!
So, until next time, Happy Scrappin'.

HIMCR#66
I'm on a roll now guys, 2 posts in one weekend. It's only because we have the extra day off and my friend Robin came over. We decided to make a card for a couple of challenges. We chose to combine 2 challenges, Hiding in my Craft room - whose challenge colors were orange, purple and black and the DCWV stack-a-holic template challenge. This is the card that I came up with.
HIMCR#66
I think it came out pretty darn good. In this challenge I used the following products:
-Paper from DCWV - HIPPIE CHIC matstack and the La Bella Rouge Stack
-the flower is from Prima
-the banners were cut using Pretty Pennants and my Cricut Expression2
-jute (string) by Natural Connections
-Just for you stamp by Close to my Heart
-Purple jewels - Imaginesce (IRock)
Ok Guys, until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Happy Birthday Robin
Hello Again:
Guess what, I finished my first assignment in my Administrator's Computer class. I am so stoked, so I decided to do a quick card for my friend's birthday. No, really I had to get the gift and do a card because she was coming over to see me today and I wanted it done for her when she got here. I was literally glueing the final touches on while she was on the deck talking to my DH(Darling Husband). Anyway I purchased a gift bag from the dollar store for her gift, so I decided to make a quick matching card and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it, I do.
Instructions:
-I simply cut an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white cardstock in half
-I used my 1 1/4 & my 1 1/2 paper shapers circle punches to punch out the orange and green circles from scrap paper
- orange ribbon from dollar store
-olive scrap of card stock for the happy birthday stamp
-one medium Jewel tone olive pearl from the Pearlescent Goodie Box
-bone scrap for background
I think it looks great, for 15 minutes of work and it was basically free, because it was made with scraps. So until next time, Happy Scrappin'
